Calling All Runners! We've created a New 6 week Strength Series, called FIT to Run, that's geared towards runners (if that's not you, but it's your partner, let them know! It's not just for "moms"). This series will run for 6 weeks via our Virtual Studio (so even if we don't live in the same city we can still work out together!) Heck, if you have a friend who runs in a different city from you? They can join too! ... Jen (Fitmom Durham) will teach this series that begins Monday May 17th and runs weekly until June 21st. We'll meet at 7:30 pm for between 30 and 45 min. The last class will be a celebration of Jen's 43rd Birthday (maybe we'll even have a ZOOM bday party for her:) When you buy this pass: You'll get access to our content library of pre-recorded workouts, so that if you want to work out on your own time, you can log in and access other workouts for the duration of our series. If you miss the LIVE class, the recording will be posted in our content library for you to view (and complete!) at your convenience (great if you're in a different time zone than us!) If you consistently attend classes each week, we promise that your run times will improve, your recovery time between runs will be better and you'll finally start doing the important strength training that all runners need. Our first week of 2021 online (live) classes began on January 4th! In spite of lockdowns in our cities, kids at home yet again and being back to virtual school, our members SHOWED UP! Our new schedule starts on Monday January 4th, 2021! We made some changes to our class offerings based on your feedback! We added a Monday class because you all want to start your week off strong!... We are offering more 30 minute Express classes, because you all enjoyed the more targeted and time efficient workouts! We added some noon time sweat sessions, so if you’re working from home you can join us! Saturday mornings are still a great way to kick off the weekend with us :) Our signature one hour, FITMOM+Baby, FITMOM2B and FITWOMAN classes are still on the schedule and always will be! Luckily, aside from your doctor or midwife, there are a number of other health practitioners that can be extremely helpful during pregnancy, but many of them are lesser known. We had our first class of the New Year today! And our first noon time class. It was really great to see a mix of mammas with babies in carriers and mammas who were on their lunch break, working out with me! We only had 30 minutes, but that was all the time we needed to get a sweat on. We talked about what our word for 2021 would be, specifically as it related to movement and exercise. My word is consistency: 2021 is the year I want to be more consistent with daily movement! ...Some of the words I heard today were: Grace Enough Marathon Strong Recovery Thrive Drive Energy Realistic Fun Keep it up Priority Such great words to focus on! We have one more week of outdoor stroller strength classes. It's gone by so quickly! Here are a few highlights from our month of November... I added a third class, on Mondays, to accommodate all of the demand! We got more vitamin D than we expected! There was snow...... In 3 months of classes, we haven't had any thunder storms and almost no rain!! We wore tank tops in NOVEMBER!!! There were more than a few windy days, but luckily, we were able to find reasonable shelter from it. The best part about the classes has been being able to offer something to the mammas who so eagerly want to see other people in person on their mat leave. I've been told many times (especially recently) that the class has been a lifeline. Something they look forward to every week as there are so few opportunities to be outside and distant with others. While we won't be offering a regular outdoor, in person class after next week, we ARE considering how we can keep helping mammas in our community connect with each other in person during the winter months. We all know that it's easier to be together in person when we're moving to keep warm, so our plans will naturally include some movement in the great outdoors:) If you've enjoyed or benefited from any of our outdoor classes this fall, I'd love to hear from you!
