Trainer Duncan takes 3 reps on Pin Squats in his prep for his next powerlifting meet! The pin squats removes the muscles stretch reflex that is used during regular squats. This helps train rate of force development / explosive-strength used to strengthen specific ranges of motion in the squat. This would be around the parallel position, which is the most mechanically disadvantageous position and will create a sticking point in the lift. A big Pin Squat equals an even BIGGER squat!
