Hi folks. I hope you are staying sane during this unprecedented time. Getting back to you has taken a wee bit longer than I thought it would. But better late then never. I have started doing two 30 minute workouts with a few of my class members on zoom. A 20 minute cardio which includes a warm up, cool down and stretch on Wednesday’s at 11. And a weights class which includes a warm up, strength/endurance session, and stretch on Friday’s at 11. If you’re interested, send me ...a pm and I’ll send you out the link. Hope to see you there.

As you know I teach fitness to older adults. This means we do low/no impact exercising at a lower BPM. We do a warm up, cardio, weight training and stretching. Because of our current situation I can’t teach and I am missing that exercise. So to get me motivated away from the couch, I thought I’d help you do the same. Over the next few days I am going to post 5 minute videos for you to watch. We will start with a warm up. I will also include the exercise breakdown. Whatever you do over the next little while, keep moving. Hang in there everyone, we will get through this, together.

Happy New Year all!! As we often do, at the beginning of a new year, we take stock of what the previous year was like. My life was pretty amazing. I produced and performed in my one woman show, Trish Adams, Back in the Limelight, at the Limelight Dinner Theatre. It was everything I could have hoped for & more and looking forward to doing it again this year. Richard and I drove ‘track days’ in our Mustangs this past summer. Speed, speed and more speed. What a thrill. Doing tha...t again this year! I became a first-time grandmother in April. What a soul-soothing, unexplainable joy that is. Not only is she marvelous, so is my daughter Casey for her incredible sense of motherhood. She and her partner, Dylan, are doing an amazing job raising their little bundle of happiness. My eldest, Taylor, has completed her studies and is ready to graduate from Columbia University with an MFA in Creative Producing. She is getting ready to take the film-making world by storm. Look out! However, with all those wonderful experiences to be proud of, I was still a bit down at the end of 2018. I know this time of year is often tough on people for many reasons. I realized, for me, I was feeling down in the dumps mainly due to lack of exercise over the past few weeks. I truly believe, because I have experienced it myself, exercise is SO DAMN IMPORTANT. Its not about losing weight. Its about getting the blood and oxygen moving throughout the body. And it forces you to drink more water which I am sure most of us could do with. It helps with your sleep, it begets more energy and just makes everything better. It doesn’t matter what you do: dance, walk, jog, run, bike, spin, swim, play sports, go to the gym, take fitness classes. Just do something! I teach older adults at Variety Village. Most are my age and older and several are hampered with various disabilities. In my class there is an 85-year-old who said she has never been able to move her hips side to side until my class. There is another woman who has partial kidney failure and feels more limber everywhere than ever before. I have a couple who have never done any physical fitness in their lives and regardless of feeling totally overwhelmed with the movement being asked of their bodies, they keep coming back. Its never too late to start doing SOMETHING. But start now cuz its not going to get any easier. This year I would like to offer more classes around the city I want to come to you. PM me if you are interested in getting something going. It will be cheap and cheerful. But fun and rewarding.
