So for very, very long time, people have been saying okay, you've got one line of evidence out here that says people feel a whole lot better when their testosterone is higher. You got another line over here saying well all the biochemists and biophysiologists are saying oh, there's no testosterone receptors in the brain. There's only estrogen and progesterone. Yeah there's estrogen and progesterone for sure. So how's testosterone work? What I'm finding is that testosterone has a direct effect on the dopaminergic system in the brain. Hence, if somebody's low on testosterone, they're not firing their dopamine to the same degree. What's dopamine? Dopamine's a catecholamine that allows you to feel pleasure, to feel excitement, to feel that pop that you get, to feel drive, to feel motivation, to feel sexual, to feel all of these things. Well low and behold, that's what testosterone does. Why, I believe it's operating through the dopaminergic system. This is crucial stuff when it comes to the integration of brain and hormone now.
