Complete a 5km Fun Run &/or 5km Run/Workout anytime during the month of March. The 5km Run/Workout will include 10 Virtual Sweat Zones where you will be asked to complete designated exercises. Hey Athabascans! Anyone looking for some February fitness motivation?!? Since X Warrior Challenge loves Athabasca I have been sent some swag kits from the Resolution Run to giveaway to you. What do you need to do to snag a swag kit? 1. Set a goal to complete a 5km run or walk before the end of February. It can be on a treadmill or bundled up outside (it WILL warm up next week ).... 2. Comment below to tell me you’re in and I’ll hook you up with your free virtual run swag. That’s it! Lainey and I did our Resolution Run a couple weeks ago and now this is my fave comfiest mask I own (as far as masks go ). There are 6 medals you can collect this year so why not kick off the collection with a FREE virtual event?

For anyone who registered for the X Beaver Fun Run: I picked up our swag today! Starting Friday you have 10 days to complete your 5 or 10km. Please send me a message to arrange to pick up your swag from me. With the small cap on outdoor gatherings I am going to hold off trying to organize a group run. Hopefully you can get together with a couple friends for a socially distant run that keeps you safe but still allows you to socialize and support one another.

Something I have really missed over the crazy past 7 months is running events with friends! Does anyone want to join me for the X Warrior Challenge 5K and/or 10K Fun Run on Nov 28/29 or Dec 5/6 here in Athabasca? As the temps drop I need all the motivation I can get to continue getting out there so I appreciate having an event on my calendar. Also, how fun are these X Beaver toques??... TrackMEET Monday tonight at 7-8pm at the track at EPC. We will run a mix of 400m and 200m intervals. I missed last week so I am extra excited to run with some of you tonight! All fitness levels always welcome.

Hello! It sure has been a long time since I’ve posted here. First off, I miss working out with people! I miss the energy and accountability of group exercise. I did a running workout at the EPC track recently and was thinking how wonderful it’d be if the track was more utilized by our community. ... SO, I have decided I want to start TrackMEET Mondays: a FREE run club for ALL ages and abilities at EPC track on Mondays at 7-8pm beginning July 20, 2020. I’d like to invite anyone who likes to move, regardless of your pace, to join in! The plan: 10-15 min warm up jog/walk and dynamic movements 30-40 min speed workout 10-15 min cool down and stretch The beauty of speed workouts on a track are that everyone can see one another and cheer each other on but do completely different workouts that match each person’s fitness level and experience. For example, if the speed workout one week is 400m intervals there may be one person who does 2 and a person who does 10 and that is % okay! Not a runner or nursing an injury but craving the wonderful running community? Feel free to come out and walk the outer edge of the track. We will practice appropriate social distancing measures since there is lots of room on a track! I still encourage you to wash your hands before and after coming and please stay home if you are feeling unwell. There are no washrooms on site so make sure you take care of business before you come. Feel free to bring children along. They can join in with us OR the parking lot at EPC is great smooth surface for rollerblades, scooters or bikes. Strollers are welcome but just a heads up that the track is shale so a jogging stroller would be your best bet. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me!

Hey friends! I have some portable exercise equipment I’d be happy to lend out if you’re looking for more variety for your home workouts during this time. I have 10 resistance bands, some mini bands, a few sets of light dumbbells (3lbs, 5lbs and 8lbs) and a couple medicine balls. Shoot me a message if you’re interested in borrowing anything and I’ll make sure to get it to you. Just because we’re social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t still be active at home!
