Starting today, all day-use park gates are opening early. Parking will be available; however, additional services (garbage and vault toilets) will be limited. T...here will be a gradual ramping up of services as staff return. Please be patient and continue to pack in pack out. Stay within your own community and adhere to all public health restrictions. Follow gathering limits which means a maximum of five people. Practice physical distancing throughout the park. Stay home if you are unwell. Please be respectful of parks staff as they work to complete spring maintenance and start up procedures for re-opening of facilities. Given our new provincial COVID-19 restrictions, the Bay Treasure Chest Association must temporarily cease its Weekly Toonie Draw activity until further notice a...fter the chests are picked up at noon this Wednesday, April 28th*. Details about the April 28th draw -It will have the usual deadline of noon this Wednesday to play. *PLEASE NOTE: we will remove a chest earlier if a retailer requests that we do so. -However, for safety reasons, given the count that precedes the draw involves a minimum number of volunteers, the April 28th draw date is unknown at this time. FORMER MASKWA LANDS GOING TO BMBCL! As announced yesterday, we can finally confirm that lands, formerly within the Maskwa Aquatic Club leasehold, are going to b...e added to the Blue Mountain - Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area. There was a lot of work done on this by numerous groups over the last two years. Of interest, there is a beautiful stand of red pine on this block, stretching along the shores of Charlies Lake. This acquisition (approx 35 acres) is expected to pave the way for better access and, hopefully, trail improvements. See more
