Great coverage of our ‘rise from the ashes’ Celebratiheld on September 8, 2020
It was a great day on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 when Bob Runciman, Chair of the Five Mile Light Rebuild Committee and his team proudly celebrated the Five Mile Light’s ‘Rise from the Ashes’ Celebration on the G.C. Hudson Supply lawn... A celebration to recognize Major Donors and Key Contributors; ceremonial ‘passing of the ‘Lighthouse Key’ to Elizabethtown-Kitley Township Mayor, Brant Burrow; and unveiling of the Five Mile Light Commemorative Plaque donated by the E-K Herita...ge Committee. Complimentary boat tours were provided by the Grenville Fish & Game Club and Ted Allen. The event was hosted by the Hudson Point Road Association. Thanks to everyone who contributed and made this day so special ! Congratulations to our Five Mile Light Rebuild Committee and especially to our Chair - Bob Runcimanone of the finest leaders I have ever known. Ps::The media links below outline the coverage of the event, but I wanted to also share some photos from the day. https://www.recorder.ca///five-mile-light-almost-complete https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/rising-from-the-ashes-historic-st
The lighthouse rebuild is progressing nicely, and this week we saw some very noticable changes...great news! Here are a few photos after the Kehoe folks finished for today.
