Sarah Nurse, Olympic Silver Medalist for Team Canada, @pwhpa member, and former player for the CWHL. She is believed to be the first black woman to play for Tea...m Canada in the Winter Olympics. Before her time with Team Canada, she played for the Wisconsin Badgers where she was the only player in Badgers history to score a hat-trick against their rival the Minnesota Gophers. Outside of hockey, Sarah Nurse alongside teammate Marie-Philip Poulin were chosen to represent Tim Hortons limited edition Barbie dolls as a part of the You Can be Anything campaign. : Hockey Canada
We have finally been able to sit down and calculate the numbers and we are so thrilled that we and all of our volunteer knitters were able to get out just over ...10,000 knitted knockers in 2020! It truly is amazing given that we are in a pandemic so thank you to all our volunteers who helped in any way.We are off to a great start in 2021 to exceed this number and so if you know anyone that is in need please have them put a request in at www.knittedknockerscanada.com so we can provide them with a little comfort and love See more

World Polio Day first of three groups of cyclists at Queenston Heights Park. The first Dr. Ron Mergl Pedal for Polio Plus fundraiser, attended and supported by ...June Mergl and family. 25 riders pictured per COVID protocols and masked. Colder than yesterday by 30 degrees F. But a great day on both sides of the Border. Raised close to $180,000 for Polio. Overall with the District donation and individual club grants and the $40,000 challenge by Thie Convery we should surpass $500,000 USD. Thanks to the RC of NOTL and RC of Lewiston NOTL for hosting and to the RC of Fonthill and Welland for homemade cookies and scones. And to all Rotarians and friends of Rotary for your donations. Happy thanksgiving to all Rotarians and Friends of Rotary!
