Backyard Swimming Lesson Update -------------------------------------------------------- Further to the Ontario provincial announcement on May 14, 2020, Flamingo in the Backyard will be offering swimming lessons in our client's private backyard pools starting late-May. We are confident that given the nature of our backyard instruction, we can make our clients and our instructors comfortable. There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to pe...ople through the water in pools as proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) should inactivate the virus in the water. To ensure that our instructors and our students remain healthy and safe during backyard lessons, we will be taking the following precautions: > All instructors will be in good health, have hand sanitizer to use before entering a client's backyard, and will sanitize their teaching equipment before beginning a lesson > Instructors will test each backyard pool before beginning a lesson to ensure the chlorine is at an adequate level (minimum of 1.0 ppm) > If your child can swim independently, your instructor will teach from the side of the pool > If your child can not swim independently, your instructor will be comfortable teaching them hands-on. Alternatively, if parents prefer to act as the instructor's arms, your instructor can run the lesson as a parented class (therefore not being in contact with the child) > We will be programming our booking system to send clients a safety checklist six hours before appointments > Clients will be required to reschedule lessons if anyone in their household is showing COVID-19 related symptoms (see list here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-stop-spread) > We will be offering free rescheduling for all lessons if four hours cancellation notice is provided If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us a message or email. :)

Booking is now open for summer backyard swimming lessons! Maddy will be returning for her second summer with us. She has over four years of teaching experience and is currently in university to become a teacher. We are thrilled to have her join our team again! Maddy's schedule will be Monday - Friday from June 8th - August 28th. Backyard swimming lessons can be booked online through the following link: https://acuityscheduling-flamingointhebackyard.as.me/backya. ...If you are hoping to schedule more than one lesson per day, please choose the back-to-back lesson option since that will remove the travel time between lessons. COVID-19 Refund Policy Exception: We are aware that due to COVID-19 there is a chance that we may have to cancel lessons if the government extends the forced closure of non-essential businesses into the summer months. For this reason, we have amended our refund policy for the Summer 2020 season. If any scheduled backyard lessons are cancelled due to a forced closure order issued by the government, those lessons will be refunded in full to clients at the end of the season.
