I would recommend to never install a glued down hardwood flooring product, use a floating glue together product instead if you want hardwood in your basement. You will spend more having it ripped up if it is damaged by water or any other means than you would to install a high quality floating engineered hardwood. This video shows the effort/tools to remove roughly one square foot of it (after cutting it into small strips) and keep in mind you still have to patch and repair the concrete it was glued to afterwards.
