They say a dream without goals is just a dream and they ultimately fuel disappointment -Denzel Washington. When Suzanne and I set out into the purebred cattle business, we had a dream but more importantly we had a goal of creating sound, functional cattle with calving ease. ... We recently purchased a group of 50 commercial first calf heifers last spring and used our herd sire Varro, and a Tartan son on those females. Of those 50 females we sold a package of 30 of those bred females to Travis and Brandon Sparrow’s family, and we retained the rest. With a due date of March 15th, we are happy to say that Sparrows have 3 left to calve, and we have 2. We helped 1 calf the was breach and Sparrows haven’t helped any. This has solidified our values and our goals that we are trying to pursue with our operation. We may not have a big number of purebred cows, but we take a no nonsense approach, with commercial cattle producers in mind. Our bulls sell online on DV Auction and it starts closing tonight at 7pm in a horse race style close out.
