Dear Flavour fans, Today as we announce that Flavour will remain on hiatus in 2018, we wish to thank you for your tremendous support and contributions toward North Island College students over the years. Thanks to our sponsors and your participation in 2016, Flavour raised more than $20,000 to help NIC students reach their educational and career goals. ... In consultation with the North Vancouver Island Chefs Association -- who made the entire event possible -- we decided it was best to have today’s Chefs use the funds to support tomorrow’s Chefs. Therefore, the NIC Foundation Board of Directors voted to invest the proceeds of Flavour 2016 into the new teaching kitchen for NIC Professional Cook students in Campbell River. The project, as well as other community events and commitments, have created some capacity issues which means Flavour 2018 will remain on pause. But don’t let your taste buds despair. Instead, plan to join NIC in the spring of 2019 in Campbell River for a fabulous fundraising feast and tour of more than 105,000 square feet of new and renovated space including the modern teaching kitchen that you helped create.
