NEW: COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS IN SUMMARY 1. BC will restrict travel within the province. As of Friday, random roadside check-stops, fines included, will be used to... make sure people are not travelling outside your local health region without a legitimate reason. 2. BC Ferries will not be putting extra sailings on. Bookings will be cancelled including trailers and campers. Ferries will also be contacting all travelers and will tell people to stay home if it's not essential. 3. Premier John Horgan says BC will eliminate travel bookings from outside health area. "Do not try to book outside your area." This will include travel from inside and outside BC. 4. AstraZeneca vaccine will now be made available to everyone 40 plus in BC. This includes at special clinics in BC for people living in COVID-19 hot spots. The hot spot communities include: Dawson Creek, West Newton (Surrey, Whalley(Surrey), North Delta Eas, Newton (Surrey, Panorama (Surrey, South Langley Township, West Abbotsford, North Surrey, Port Coquitlam, Squamish, Kensington (Vancouver), Fleetwood (Surrey) 5. British Columbia extends ban on social gatherings, events, indoor dining and group indoor fitness for adults until May 25 at 12:00 am. Enjoy the colours of fall at Maple Green Park in Fleetwood ( 8959 - 150 Street). This large neighbourhood park has a playground, various sports courts and a la...rge field perfect for pick-up games of football, baseball or soccer. Maple Green Park is also home to the public artworks 'View from the Top' and 'Lifting Hands' two gold, aluminum panels that brighten the new washroom building.

The Fleetwood BIA staff members had a great socially distanced meeting at Cuatro Coffee with Councillor Linda Annis Surrey City Council yesterday morning, to discuss our project plans to support Fleetwood businesses for this fall and into next year. We also had the opportunity to show Councillor Annis the recent clean-up job that we did at the properties behind Budget Brake & Muffler Auto Centres, De Dutch and Petro-Canada. These businesses applied for our $1000 Area... Enhancement Grant, and using those funds, we hired YBS Yard Beautification Services to clear overgrown and dead shrubbery, bushes, and tree branches to create a cleaner, more visible area, which will lend to increased visibility and security. We will continue to beautify this area with new bark mulch and a wrap for the hydro box.
