The Federal government has opened a new COVID relief program: the Highly Affected Sector Credit Availability Program (HASCAP) for Canadian businesses that have been heavily impacted by COVID-19. The HASCAP loan provides guaranteed, low-interest loans of $25,000 to $1 million to fund the operations of qualifying businesses. A key requirement for eligibility is that the business has experienced revenue decreases of 50% or more in 3 of the 8 months preceding the application. Meet Wendy Snisarenko, office manager at Fletcher Mudryk. Born and raised in Fairview, Wendy has strong ties to the peace region and now calls Grande Prairie home. She started as an articling student with the firm after she received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Athabasca University. Since then, she has pivoted her role and has been with the firm for over 18 years. Entwined in the day-to-day activities of all levels of staff and partners at the firm, Wendy is one of our most valuable assets. Community minded and quick to take action, Wendy has initiated and implemented several firm initiatives over the years. Wendy spends her free time outdoors and volunteering with her kid’s schools and sports teams, and is grateful for all the wonderful people she’s met over the years, many of whom have remained dear friends.

Meet Devon Wardley, partner at Fletcher Mudryk. Raised in Fox Creek, Devon has deep roots in in the peace region and has seen the challenges faced by local businesses trying to navigate the booms and busts of Northern Alberta. His genuine interest in helping extends beyond the office and into the community where Devon has been active with the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta for several years and was awarded the CPA Alberta Early Achievement Award (2018) for community involvement. Recently, Devon has made himself available through AVAIL.GP, which is a collective of local professional firms that have joined together to provide complementary, no-obligation, local business advice and resources to business struggling through COVID-19 and the economic downturn.
