This shoot has had a spot in my mind for months and months. It first sat on a shelf in my mind collecting dust, I finally couldn’t handle the itch anymore and HAD to create it. Weeks of planning, coordination, editing and finally: realization. Motherhood has awed me. Shocked me. Changed me. Built me stronger. Made me capable of things I didn’t know were possible. Doing this shoot I was able to meet and capture other amazing women and their babies. All of who, have gone thro...ugh everything I had because motherhood is a tribe. No matter where you go on this planet, no matter the differences in cultures or dialect, motherhood at its core is the same. It’s a 24/7 job that is the culmination of every emotion the human spirit is capable of feeling wrapped into one beautifully exhausting, fulfilling little package. Women are absolutely incredible and I’m so proud to be able to represent all mamas. I’ve always been in awe of the feminine form, we are able to create life and allow every facet of our body to change for our children. I hope to capture the raw beauty, as well as, all the changes and socially deemed flaws to be able to shed light on issues that are typically not shared until experienced. Knowing that you aren’t alone is so crucial to your mental health. After months of pregnancy and hours of labour, I asked every mother would you do it again? and every single one said Yes. After you see your child’s face everything fades away: the pain, the bleeding, the exhaustion, the stitches, the bump, the sweat, and the anxiousness. All that matters is that sweet baby’s cry. So if you’re reading this mama, know that you’re doing an amazing job, know that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be and know that you’re not alone.
