Goal setting is a valuable tool in keeping you focused to stay on track, but that is the easy part. The hard part of changing a body, a mindset, or a life circumstance is developing consistency and will power. There are two traits that most successful people in any circumstance share.. ... Number one.. They have a great self belief and can see themselves successful in their minds even before they set out to start what they want to accomplish. Any limitations or commitment we set for ourselves that are not achieved are self imposed. This statement Arnold makes is simple but vast beyond words. If you want something bad enough you will never stop pushing forward untill you conquer what you set out to accomplish. Making health a priority in this day and age can seem impossible with kids, work, and a million distractions in our culture nowadays with social media, binge watching netflix, tv, and the list goes on and on.... Excuses are the easiest thing to find, but try and find an excuse not to see health as a high priority in your life. Media has programmed us to be victims of our own circumstances. So more than likely there will always be someone in your corner telling you its ok to not push hard, take some time off, or give up, but the reality is the formula for success takes an immense amount of time, effort, will power and determination. Everything starts and finishes with your mindset. Erase the phrases "I can't do it" , "It's too hard", "I'm failing", or any negative though pattern in your mind. Our brains are so intricate and powerful you have no idea the damage negative thinking can do in reaching goals. If you keep repeating things like the above in your mind, the reality is, your brain will register that as truth and at that point unless you reprogram with positive thinking, you are almost certain to never attain the goals you desire. ACCOUNTABILITY + CONSISTENCY = PROGRESSION
Fitness is an industry full of misinformation and guarantees. There is no magic program or supplement that will unlock the secrets to success. Transformations that are sustainable and stand the test of time take effort, self discipline, and patience.
