I haven't introduced myself in awhile. Hello to all the new beautiful people that have followed me here. I see you I'm a mom of 2 adult children and a Glamma to 2 adorable little boys. ... Things that you might relate to here. We are an oilfield house, we deal with mental health issues and we aren't afraid to speak up about it anymore. I had my kids young and that makes me a young Glamma I am desperately trying to marry the love of my life during a pandemic. My family means the world to me and it's truly why I'm here posting this to you today. I work this business because it gives me the flexibility and freedom to do what I want, when I want and pays my bills. Everything I do is for my family, this past year hasn't been kind to a lot of people, my kids included. Everyone has been laid off, we've experienced suicide attempts, illness, losing family members and let's face it, I miss the few people I do choose to let into my bubble. It's not all gloom and doom though. We're all stronger now, happier now and we're all a little more sane than 7 months ago. One thing that really got me through everything is this incredible tribe of women that I have the pleasure of working with every single day. They make me laugh, they challenge me, they cry with me and we've formed a bond I didn't know I needed in my life. Having fun at work, from home, through video chats and messenger texts have brightened my days and a day at the office feels like a day with friends. I saw this floating around and it resonates so strongly with me. #ChooseToChallenge how you see a pyramid. A patriarchal view tells us that power, strength, success comes from standing on the backs of others. But OUR view reveals that power, strength, success is rooted in lifting others upon our backs. We know because we do it every day. ... We know many are suspicious of women who work from home, the "boss babes," the "social sellers." A lot of people despise us. Maybe even you do. Know why? Because we challenge employment inequity. We challenge traditional definitions of work. We see a need and make a way. This is women being empowered and it is women empowering other women. That terrifies the world. Yes our job is small, our role is small. We do small things with great love. The opposite of love is fear. We scare the world because we challenge how things are done.
