Just refinished the complete downstairs and the stairs for a great person in Windsor in a beautiful house off the main drag. Floors came out very well, before and after shots or what we could get when we finished (it was late and dark). This house will also be up for sale soon stay tuned for the MLS cut of this great property.

Thought i would take a breath and update on our summer! This has been our busiest summer to date: just a few of the projects - Chester Legion, large project in Parrsboro, another two in Truro, several in the metro area and all points in between. Just completed the first part of a Living Room, small hall and two bedrooms in a house in Dartmouth. Clients needed it done over two days as they moved furniture to one side of house and once we completed the first side they will move the furniture to that side we will return and do the other side of the house.

We have been crazy busy with graduations and proms and life so have fallen behind on uploading pictures, will try to rectify that this next few days! Completed an entire downstairs and a set of stairs for a couple moving back from Alberta to Bridgetown, great folks and the floors had carpet in the middle surrounded by hardwood. They removed the carpet to find rough hewn boards completely bare. Did not know what to do so we gave them an idea that was more economical than tearing it out and replacing it all or having them sanded down and restained. Before and after shots here, the floors came out nicely.

Just completed an entire house at 3701 Robie Street and the good news is that this is available to rent immediately. Homeowner is a great guy and the location is awesome. The renovations are fantastic and it looks great. The before and after shots are below, very happy with the result but as always you are the judge! What is the absolute worst thing you can put on your wood floors? Its TAPE. Any kind of tape, even "painter's tape" can easily bond with the finish on your wo...od floor so that when you remove the tape, you remove the finish as well. People write to us from around the world where their painter, handyman or moving company put tape on their floor and when they removed it, the finish came up as well. This is not the result of a bad finish. It is a chemical reaction where the tape adhesive literally becomes the finish. Never let anyone put tape on your hardwood floors! See more

Well, we tackled our hardest project to date, refinishing 2400 square feet of white oak hand scraped floor on a restaurant in a Hotel in Halifax. The floors were very worn and damaged in most areas, the project went on for four days and we are very glad it is finished and we feel the results are fantastic but it does not matter what we think. Completed a kitchen, sunroom, and a couple of kitchen cabinets that were water damaged. Phone was dead when we arrived so the shots are all after we finished. Completed a very damaged and distressed set of stairs the other day and actually remembered to take before (did start the process before I remembered that is why the stairs look wet, they are), during and after shots for the first time in a long while. Nice homeowner and the stairs came out very well!!!

The Morning Call reported that a home fire was caused by hardwood floor refinishing chemicals. The paper reported that Fire Capt. John Christopher investigat...ed the home in Allentown, PA where he found a pile of rags in the kitchen that spontaneously combusted causing the fire. Apparently the rags were soaked with chemicals used to refinish the wood floors in the home. Mr. Sandless uses only safe, non-combustible, non-toxic solutions to refinish your floor! Think before you hire someone to refinish your wood floors. If the chemicals they use are so toxic that they simply catch fire on their own, they cant be good for your health! See more

Just completed a full bungalow in Wolfville, used a new screening process for the severe black wear areas in dining room and living room, still maintains our environmental no mess claims but with much better outcomes for badly damaged floors. Also, have not mentioned in awhile that the over the counter products like Rejuvenate end up damaging your hardwood floors and make them look dull and dirty. We receive 3-4 calls per month from folks that have used this and now need us to take it back off, so please do not use these products on your Hardwood floors! www.mrsandless.com

Completed three full houses from Springhill to Halifax plus a bunch of floor refinishing projects in between. Humidity does not begin to describe the heat, it was unkind to say the least! We just completed a living room and hall floors that were badly damaged, with serious issues but the customers were great and they have an upcoming wedding so we had to give it a shot. We are very pleased with the outcome although not perfect they are at least now old floors with character and they can enjoy their upcoming celebration!
