A flooring contractor asked for assistance in addressing a problem with a clients brushed and hand scraped fumed Oak floor in a busy commercial space. They had issues with the finish separating from the floor in the grain, leaving the appearance of white lines specifically and exclusively in the soft grain of the Oak floor. This is caused by the finish becoming brittle over time and not adhering to the wood during seasonal transitions. The finish system used appears to be a U...V cured, low sheen oil type finish. Parquet renewal The request was to refinish and modernized the parquet floor. This building is one of the original luxury condo buildings in Midtown Toronto. When we modernized the colour and finish of the existing Oak floor, the homeowner upgraded the vents.
