For us routesetting is part fun, part aesthetics, and part a teaching opportunity. We love to throw advanced movement into easier problems. It’s difficult to force movement when you need to use good holds in reasonable proximity to keep the grade. There will always be other ways to do the problem and a V2 climber will not intuitively do the intended move, they will instead do something more difficult, like matching the pocket. But if they observe more advanced climbers, or someone takes the time to demonstrate and explain the techniques, then they can progress a little, and maybe look badass at the same time! 2 days in and we have 23 people already competing in the Shredded Tips Series! The more competitors, the better the prizes! This is the bin of swag up for the general prize draws, everyone who participates gets a chance at these goodies! Most of them are leftover from the spring when we were going to hold the second instalment of our soon to be epic series. Shoutout to the crew in the Okanagan, working their asses off and sending hard! We were lucky enough to spend many weekends camping up at the 'Fields' and trying hard on some of the (more moderate) lines before moving to the Koots. We highly recommend every boulderer visit this mecca at least once a season. Our favourite is Thanksgiving weekend, with beautiful larch scenery and crisp sending temps! Hopefully this serves as more inspiration for our hard working and hard sending local West Kootenay developers too, keep pushing, our time is just beginning!

We still have some spots available in next weeks camp, and are accepting 1 or 2 under the age of 8!
