Reticulation. Under the surface of this process, formed through the heat of a flame, lies molten metal creating movement at the surface, like so many things in nature. What is happening internally is reflected externally. As the metal it cools it becomes solid, that moment is paused in time. The resulting piece is like a mountain reflecting sunlight, ever changing in the appearance to the eye. Haven’t been online much this summer, in full production mode for my newest photo etched collection and in the garden enjoying the space. Loving the process of etching each pieces one at a time and recollections of the images of past moments during my time living on the prairies. Finding it amazing how photos can transport memory to other times and phases in life. This is the theme of this etched collection Stored Images.

It has been awhile since I made one of these little guys! This pendant is created from all the little ends of silver wire and sheet that are left when hand fabricating. I melt them together and pour them into water creating organic shapes reminiscent of finds in my favourite spot, the west coast ocean tide pools...

A new addition to my latest collection, Reflections on Water Studs. This was image shot on black and white slide film, back in my film photo days of a landscape reeds reflected on water when I lived in the prairies. I love zooming in and finding images within images..Photo etched recycled silver.

Hey BC friends! #theearringshow is fast approaching! May 5, 3-6 pm @craftcouncilbc ! These new earrings, Reflections on Water will make their debut and are part of my newest collection, Stored Images, which explores how sensory experience triggers memory, and how we relate to objects from this perspective. This new work plays with image transfer, by means of electro-etching on recycled silver. @ Craft Council of British Columbia
