What happens when you bring your bike to the supposed ktm experts for some work..... this KTM 525/520 was brought to me to see what happened and if it’s worth ...fixing. The previous rebuild on this used way too much silicone/gasket maker blocking an oil line, this also scored the cam up making it unserviceable and of course the timing chain was so stretched the tensioner was fully extended. These are the resulting images I took from the disassembly. Find a reputable mechanic lads, rebuild it right. Just because there a dealer doesn’t make them the expert sometimes. See more
