Want to thank Danielle(sorry if I spell people's names wrong)for rescuing this bunny and Cathy and her daughter for going and picking bunny up and driving bunny down here.Looks like bunny may have an inner eat infection or may have had a stroke but will have to see what vet says.

A bunny that was found in medical distress (is disabled)in Courtnay needs a kind soul to pick him up.Looking for someone up there to drive him down or someone from up this way to go pick him up.Have to go to Nanoose to trim bunny nails and groom cat and then go to lady's neighbour to trim her cat's nai!s so if you can help please call 250-618-3802 or the lady who found bunnys number is 250-218-7093.Please spread the word that we need assistance(would try to pick bunny up tomorrow but have to meet a foster coming down from Uculet in Port Alberni to pick up a couple of bunnies so time and gas money is short)

This weeks draw(shaver/pet trimmer we’ll try to raise money for later on since never got any donations to enter draw)by donation is for this cooler (thanks to Shannon for donating it)Draw will be done next Thursday.People can enter draw via etransfer ([email protected])or in person. Don’t forget that a local artist is selling a painting ($75.00)and donating money and a Sentsy seller is donating her commission if people would like to donate that way

This is Steve (hard to get a good pic yet since he just arrived so wants to hide right now)a two year old shorthair male cat.Very cuddly but children stress him out(he likes to be the only baby)He’s an inside kitty since when outside he gets scared by cars.He likes to snuggle but he’ll tell you when he needs space. He comes with his bed, stuffed toy that he likes to play with along with his spring, scratch post, dishes, and litter box(along with kitty litter)He eats wet and dry fo...od(if we have any left it will also go with him)Fixed, vaccinated, tattooed, and microchipped. If interested in meeting Steve, please call or pm.Adoption fee for cats is $250.00(with any of our adoption fees people can use credit card (or cash or debit)by putting adoption fee on Flying Fur account at Coombs Veterinary Hospital since we have lots of bills coming up)*People can also etransfer us or pay with cash(we just don’t take credit or debit so that’s why we suggest that you can pay via vet. Dumpling and Grace heading out to their new foster home in Courtnay (hopefully they can finally find their forever home since maybe someone up Island is looking for bunnies but don't want to make the drive up to Parksville)They are very sweet girls(bonded so must go together)and are spayed and vaccinated ($180.00 for pair)

Just got a call from a lady in Qualicum Beach who found a dead pine siskin (songbird)with signs of salmonella on her feeder. She asked if we could get the word out to people in the area who have bird feeders. There has been an outbreak on the lower mainland unfortunately.

Never have had so few bunnies needing homes(hopefully won't get in a bunch in a month or so that were "failed "Christmas gifts*please note that if you do need to surrender an animal that wasn't a good fit for your family we are not rude or judgmental(hear of some places treating people badly and it's a hard enough decision to have to give up their pets so the last thing people need is to be made to feel like a bad person),would rather have people surrender their pet than hav...e them dumped into the wild)Only have 4 girls looking for their forever homes(one bonded pair)Spayed and vaccinated for rabbit hemmoragic fever,$90.00 adoption fee(a lot cheaper than if you were to buy from a breeder and have to get bunny fixed and vaccinated)The female pair are going to be located in Courtnay at their new foster home (in case anyone living up that way are looking to adopt bunnies and can't make it up to Parksville) See more

These 2 young girls(some of the baby bunnies that were surrendered this year)have been in foster care in Ladysmith and now that they'll be getting spayed, are ready for their forever home(together since they're bonded)Adoption fee is $180.00 for the pair(costs us $200.00 per bunny to get fixed and vaccinated so adoption fee is a great deal)Foster wrote up a little bio of them

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 29.10.2020

Just going through the adoption records in order to contact people that have adopted bunnies that need to be fixed and with one of the bunny adoptions(2 ducks and 2 male bunnies were adopted)I unfortunately don't have a phone number or email, just the street address so if KAYLA MANAS in Cumberland could please message me ,that would be great

Thankyou Jude,Nathalie, and Christine for your help with getting these 4 male Flemish giant Rex crosses to Nanaimo for us to pick upThey are 12 weeks old and adoption fee includes neutering (once vet is able to,we're still waiting for when vet can start fixing bunnies again)and they were just vaccinated for rabbit hemmoragic fever this morning.

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 12.10.2020

These 2 young females have been in foster care for us and now that they will be getting spayed soon will be looking for a home(bonded so must stay together)$180.00 for pair(fixed and vaccinated which costs us $200.00 per bunny so it's a very good deal at $180.00)Foster home wrote up a discription for them.

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 11.10.2020

Another reminder to people who have adopted bunnies from us that still need to be fixed that the appointment is Nov 24th(not sure on time yet but it'll be in the morning so if unable to drop off bunnies to us on that day bunnies can be brought day before)Bunnies need to be in a travel kennel with bunny's name and gender on it(if you don't have a kennel we have spares but need to know ahead of time so we can get kennels ready)For the people that only paid half the adoption fee upfront we'll need you to bring the other half when dropping off bunnies so we can put it towards the bill. Also if you live up in the Courtnay area in order to save people an extra trip we'll bring the bunnies back and meet everyone at the Courtnay Bosleys. Please contact us if you still need your bunny fixed to save me from going through all the adoption papers.

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 02.10.2020

Want to thank Samantha and her partner for adopting the 4 rats (they're going to send me pics of them in their new home)that came in loaded with mites and very sick with URI.Also for picking up mallard duck with mobility problems (Howard)from MARS wildlife (thanks MARS for the crate)and female sugar glider(want to thank owner for donation and supplies)in Courtnay.Glider lost her mate so needed to be around other gliders, she's not people friendly and bites hard but so does most of the gliders here in the colony(unless bonded early with people, they become very wild and aggressive)

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 28.09.2020

Found volunteers to go to pick up bunnies and meet me in Nanaimo and go to MARS wildlife to pick up duck and also pick up sugar glider in Courtnay Thanks everyone for your help

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 24.09.2020

Lots of bunnies that will be fixed soon and ready for their new homes(Coombs vet is doing 6 bunny spays for us on the 19th to test how fast the bunnies can get done on the 24th)

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 01.09.2020

Thankyou Hannah for the bunny food, hay, and all the awesome treats/chews(we always need treats and toys for ferrets(their favourite is Bandit ferret treats),bunnies, birds, sugar gliders(especially items for sugar gliders since we have to order kibble, treats, etc from exotic nutrition in the states which is crazy expensive for shipping,Creatures pet store in Victoria also has glider food but never get a chance to get down there(we also make BML formula for them if anyone else makes it and can donate some) ),and other critters)

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 25.08.2020

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 09.08.2020

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 18.07.2020

Just a few of the animals (wolfhounds and bunnies as well)that we're pet sitting for right now(one of the ways we raise money for vet bills)The little pig was adopted from us a few years back(his mom crushed him when he was a baby)so it's always nice to see him.The owner is looking for a home for 3 mule ducks,a sheep, and goats if anyone is interested (just message for pics and more info)

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 06.07.2020

Two ducks and 2 bunnies were adopted by a family yesterday We still have a female Muscovy looking for a home(rescued by MARS wildlife rescue)*shown in last pic($20.00)Talking to vet today regarding newest raccoon and hopefully we'll get a better idea of when they can start fixing bunnies (for those that have been adopted and are waiting to be fixed)We have a couple of female bunnies (not bonded)that still need homes but haven't spayed them yet, just vaccinated(people just pay half now and other half once they can get fixed)

Flying Fur Animal Rescue & Refuge 28.06.2020

Had a very busy birthday yesterday.A bunny was adopted ,had someone come for guinea pig food(still helping pet owners out with food during pandemic since don't want people to have to rehome their animals simply because they can't afford food, even paid $144.00 to have a girl's rat examined and sadly euthanized because didn't want it to suffer),2 Muscovy ducks arrived(Drake and Rhianna, age unknown, very friendly, female has missing eye,and they're good egg layers,$40.00 pair or ...all 3 Muscovys(have a female from MARS wildlife rescue)for $50.00)and 2 male guinea pigs($30.00 pair),approx 6 months old, exact age wasn't known by pet store (SPCA is full up with cats (in case anyone is interested in adopting cats)so couldn't take them so told owners to try selling them online but owner's allergies were so bad and people online had commented on some hair loss on them(we've treated them for parasites)so they were thankful that we could take them)Got some new scrub tops(parents had a hard time finding medium size scrub pants so if anyone sees them for a reasonable price please let me know)for my birthday which was awesome (you know you're an animal rescue nut when all you want for your birthday are scrubs and gloves lol) See more

It's so awesome to have other wildlife rehabilitators on board with the newest raccoon's careThere had been comments saying that he should just be killed without even knowing the extent of his injury since he shouldn't be in captivity (wildlife rehabilitatiors go into this type of animal rescue because we love wildlife and want them to be free but unfortunately some wildlife would not survive in the wild (why places like north island wildlife recovery centre have so many bir...ds of prey and bears that aren't released)so do not take the decision to euthanize (if an animal is suffering or has no quality of life)or keep the animal as a permanent resident lightly.Wonky Bear(what the rescuer named him)will have a long recovery so it's been so kind of the public to donate the funds to feed him(he loves cat food, berries, apples, and KMR formula) and build him a specialized enclosure to rehabilitate himSo many people see these guys as pests and just want them killed See more
