Well a couple more ready for the hunting season ; Last is a very nice Cooey model 840 16ga single shot that I posted earlier with a cracked barrel due to the previous owner firing a slug through it. Well the barrel has now been shortened by a half inch and a new bead site installed. It is now not a fixed full choke barrel, but a cylinder bore barrel. $200.00 634-8684

Well folks, you wonder why I tell people with the older shotguns with fixed full chokes, do not shoot steel shot, slugs or SSG through those barrels. Well this little beauty came in yesterday, other than some flaking of the wood finish, pretty mint condition, until you look at the end of the barrel. So now it needs about 1.5 inches cut off and a new front site installed, the end will need rebluing and he will now not have a full choke barrel. Too bad real nice 16ga too.

An example of the Federal Government's tracking of handguns. In 2008 I purchase this house in Corner Brook, as the parents had passed, the family was selling and cleaning out the house. In the process, they found a rifle, shotgun and a revolver handgun. Some did not know about them. Anyway one of the off spring was either an RCMP Officer or retired and took possession of the guns, as I was informed. Really the families business. Now it was 2008, mother had passed over a year ...before and the father approximately 4 years previous. I do believe registration was still required for all guns, but the handgun would have still needed it and no enforcement had been to check on the where about of these guns. Now jump ahead to 2018, I was about to go out the door one day when my son calls out and says there is a police car in front of our house, my response is RNC or RCMP, reply was RNC, hummm, as I step out of my side door I see an Officer going to my front door, so I say Good Day and can I help you? His reply is" I am looking for ********" To which I reply, you are a little late, he passed away over ten years ago. Now my sign, "Flynn's Firearm Repair" is by the front door for him to see. As I inform him I purchased the property in 2008 from the family. I asked if I could help? He informs me that he is checking on a Revolver that was registered to him. I inform him about what the family found when cleaning out the house and who took possession of them, then pointed out the house of one of the family to talk too. Which he thanked me and left. Well my questions are why RNC instead of RCMP to be following up on this? Since his passing had to be registered on his passing, why over 10 years to check up on a handgun? Registration was there and never stopped. If the individual taking the guns was RCMP or retired, why was this not reported in the system and what happened to them? After all the money that has been spent on inventory, police and tracking guns, why is it taking over 10 years for them to follow up on a file? No wonder criminals are getting away, they have over a 10 year head start before the police start looking for them......... May be our Tax dollars should be spent putting more police to work and cut back on the criminal lead time. After all go for a drive and see how many police you pass. Well another one resurrected from the grave, Squires Bingham 12ga pump action, fixed full choke barrel, wood stocks. Nothing overly pretty, but a good working beat around shotgun, truck or turrs. PAL required. 634-8684

Well just finished going through this rifle, Original mauser 98 receiver that was factory built .30-06, bolt action, trap door magazine, wood stock, along the way someone added an adjustable timney trigger for a very smooth trigger pull, About a 3.5 lb pull. The rifle is equipped with a peep rear site. 634-8684

Well hope everyone is getting squared away for hunting season, I have a few fixed power rifle scopes 4x most of them $20.00 each. Require 1 inch rings, great for the .22's. Well the 1892 .44-40 finally got put back together and updated. Over 100 years old, stocks and barrel have been replaced. Original barrel had not rifling left as it was used for shooting .410 shells. Metal has all been reblued, but still some character left.
