Fort Langley Youth Rowing Society 11.01.2021

Last Sunday, our FLYRS athletes braved the cold and rain to celebrate the holiday spirit with the team Christmas Time Trials. This was the last weekend practice for the team before the Christmas break. The FLYRS coaches and athletes have been doing their best since March to adapt to the many restrictions in place so that they may continue to train. Like everyone, the team is looking forward to the new year and all the possibilities it brings. Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year from the Fort Langley Youth Rowing Society!

Finally some of our Novice FLYRS were able to hit the water last week after a long wait. Our intrepid coach Tanner led the team safely even though the river is still high and flowing fast. I'm sure some of our athletes think they are on stationary rowing trainers when going against the current. You may notice the milk jugs on the sides of the boats. This is an added measure of safety that helps our newer athletes avoid flipping the boats. Great to see you back on the water; way to go FLYRS!
