Au long de notre recherche pour notre rapport intitulé Esorits Sains, Fermes Saines de nombreux agriculteurs ont rapporté des changements comportementaux lorsqu’ils subissent un niveau élevé de stress. Ces mécanismes d’adaptation peuvent avoir des répercussions positives ou négatives sur les agriculteurs. Ils ont par exemple tendance à perdre le sommeil (57 %), à éviter davantage les rassemblements sociaux ou familiaux (54 %) et ...à moins maîtriser leurs émotions (52 %). Toutefois, ils ont aussi tendance à accentuer certains comportements, comme porter une plus grande attention à l’aspect financier de leurs activités (44 %), consacrer plus de temps au travail (40 %) et évaluer ou planifier des résultats potentiels (38 %). This week is #MentalHealthWeek. Throughout our #HealthyMindsHealthyFarms report research, many farmers reported behavioural changes when under a great deal of stress. These coping behaviours can have positive or negative impacts for farmers. For instance, farmers tended to lose sleep (57%), attend social or family gatherings less (54%), and feel less in control of their emotions (52%). However, they also tended to practice certain behaviours more in an attempt to cope, including focusing more on financial planning (44%), spending more time working (40%), and assessing or planning for possible outcomes (38%).
