Fundraising for the 2021 Santas Anonymous Campaign is underway. This year we are asking our grade 7 & 8 students to sell purdys to help fundraise. There are catalogs available for those who would prefer a hardcopy, please ask your student to pick one up in the office. All sales will have to be submitted by March 7th.... Orders will arrive at Father Merc on March 17th. Every student who participates will have their name placed in a draw. Yesterday we finished up our last fundraiser of the 2020 campaign. Thanks to Jerry and Jen Neville for connecting us with Santa Claus who did zoom calls and videos to help us out this year. We heard the kids absolutely loved it! That’s a wrap for us as all of our volunteers from Father Mercredi are on Christmas break and getting some much needed rest. Merry Christmas to you all! Here’s to a great 2021!

This exceptional person is Tracie Nippard, an EA at Father Mercredi and our fundraising coordinator. We want to show her some love because she has gone above and beyond to ensure that we get as close as possible to hitting our goals his year. The time and energy Tracie has put into fundraising, through the sales of Purdy’s, Whoville trees, Kernels popcorn, and more, is absolutely astounding. Since March she has been working tirelessly on our behalf and every minute she has pu...t in is volunteer time. She has been a fantastic mentor to our student sales team, she has driven to Edmonton many times to pickup popcorn and other items, she has held open houses on weekends and evenings for people to shop and this is only a mere fraction of what she has been doing. We want her to know that all of her hard work has not gone unnoticed and this is not only because she has managed to raise close to $40000 (and still going)!!! We appreciate her for everything she has done and saying thank you will never be enough. The heart that she has put into our campaign is nothing short of extraordinary and we adore her. Good morning, In light of the recent news from our government regarding new restrictions, we are going to encounter major challenges over the next few weeks to ensure we can still support families in need. We normally rely heavily on our student population to assist with the organization, preparation and packing of hampers. These students will be going online until January 11th and cannot be in our building. In addition, we cannot have the public in our building to assist us ...with packing. We are also unsure of what this means for some of the fundraising we had planned. We will need a few days to figure everything out but, rest assured, we will find a way to provide a Christmas to the families who have been referred to us. Our amazing leadership students have spent some time bringing the Christmas spirit into our school this week by decorating. One of their goals is to improve our school environment and bring positivity so they thought Christmas decorations would help We really need to work hard to spread the joy this year since it’s been so difficult for many.

We can’t forget our most vulnerable population this time of year. We run an annual in school drive to gather toiletries & warm winter wear. We usually provide lunch too but this is a different year so the lovely Ciara & Ariel dropped off donations to The Centre of Hope Fort McMurray today.
