ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The First Nations Housing Conference (FNHC) is the only event in Canada that is dedicated to First Nations housing professionals, as well as the sustainability and advancement of their communities. This conference invites its delegates to gain valuable insights, learn and develop distinct skills from unique construction workshops, and build their communities for the benefit of present and future generations. ABOUT US The First Nations Housing (FNH) Commun...ity is a holistic housing resource organization using a First Nations-Led Approach to educate and empower First Nation Communities with their housing initiatives. From building to tenancy to maintenance, the First Nations Housing Community is there to help every step of the way! ABOUT THE JOB This role involves a fast-paced environment and a wide variety of tasks, which will include but not be limited to: Assist with planning and execution of the 2021 conference in areas of administration, registration, and logistics Proactively engage with delegates, trade show vendors, sponsors, speakers, and funders to ensure their needs are met Provide support with Working Group meetings Gain an understanding of First Nation housing and help build resources to address needs QUALIFICATIONS A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for challenges Good written and verbal communication skills First Nation or Inuit individual Excellent time management and organizational skills Experience with Microsoft Office products The successful candidate cannot be employed somewhere else or receive Employment Insurance during the internship.
