Here is a simple and easy way to ground yourself. I recommend practicing this when your emotions are not elevated so your body gets use to the sensation of feeling grounded. The more you practice it, the more your body will recognize it and you will be able to use this strategy when you are start to feel, in your body, your emotions elevate.

Good day students, At times, it can be difficult to identify our feelings and label them. Once we know what we are feeling, the more we can explore it and to better understand what we are feeling. Here is "The Feeling Wheel" created by Dr. Gloria Wilcox that helps you label what you may be feeling. ... You can use this in multiple ways to assist you in identifying what you are feeling in the moment. For example if you are feeling energetic you are also experiencing the core feeling of being joyful. Embrace the feeling and relish in the moment!! You deserve it. Another example is if you are feeling sad (core emotion) you may also identify that you are feeling lonely which can be reflective in feeling inadequate. This can be a moment where you get curious about what is making you feel that way. You may need further support in this area, in which talking to someone can be really helpful or writing down your thoughts and feelings. You can also use the wheel to identify what is on the opposite side of feeling sad which would be joyful, the opposite of lonely is energetic, and the opposite of inadequate is stimulating. This is important because you can utilize the opposite feelings of sad, lonely, inadequate and look for and find people, and activities that bring you feelings of joyful, energetic, and stimulating. We all experience feelings and at times they do not feel good. Yet there is a wide array of experiences we can create to help us balance our feelings. Have a great day!
