Mono Lake is one of my most treasured places from my travels. I had not realized that it, too, had suffered such severe damage in last August's wildfires. Struck by lightening, it took quite a blow. Thank you to the Mono Lake Committee for the good work they do to protect this special environment.

THE ACROBAT: And while we are on the subject of birds... A red-breasted nuthatch. These guys are funny; they seem to prefer facing downwards most of the time, and they dart around like crazy. Getting one in focus (before his attention is diverted to the next best thing and he goes into warp drive) pleases me no end.

Was quite delighted to have work accepted into this year's TD THOR Wealth Management Juried Exhibition: Quest for the Environment, out of the Quest Art School in Midland, ON. The theme of this year's program was Anthropocene - mankind's intervention in the landscape. I have 2 favourite pieces in the show ("Desafinado" and "Poles Apart", below in comments) Love the "museum" atmosphere; I may try playing with this software m'self. https://artspaces.kunstmatrix.com//td-2020-annual-juried-e.

CARDINAL RULES - They do the job well. The males are impossibly bright in the trees, you cannot help but see them. Which is exactly the point, as they distract you from the presence of Mom, she who continues the line, virtually invisible in the landscape.

Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) will be having their (online) opening of this year's VAM43 Juried Show tomorrow (Thursday Jan 14) at 3 pm. Delighted to be in the company of fellow artist Laurie Skantzos Fine Art, along with 41 other artists in this show. I haven't seen the other artwork yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. A brand new piece of mine, "The Space Between" being premiered at this show! (My entry below, in comments.)
