They were eleven, coming from BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Eleven youths with a strong desire to live and experience a life-changing expedition. In 2000, they met on Ellesmere Island located in the Northwest Passage, the most northerly of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. During this journey, Chris, a young Calgarian, realized that cancer was not the end of his life... ... " It is merely an obstacle in your life. Les aventures en boite sont devenues communes à la fondation au courant des derniers mois, mais n'ont pas cessé d'être à la fois inspirantes et motivantes. Les Courses CRYO n'y échapperont pas. Pour 2021, nous plongerons les participants dans l'univers du lac Saint-Jean. Nous les amènerons à se dépasser au sein d'une communauté forte et unie malgré la distance. Ce sentiment d'entraide et de solidarité qui nous habite habituellement lorsqu'on traverse le lac se fera ressentir... d'un bout à l'autre du pays. Cette année, on a besoin de vous. On a besoin de ressentir cette vague d'espoir et de solidarité pour les jeunes atteints de cancer. On souhaite voir des dossards des Courses CRYO, courageusement portés par des personnes n'ayant pas peur de la froideur de février, dévaler les sentiers et arpenter les trottoirs. On souhaite vous compter parmi les braves qui braveront le froid, la nuit.

Over the next few weeks, the Parc des Laurentides will be the playground for two adventurers. In complete autonomy, they will cross this forest by a route formerly taken by the Jesuits, and allowing to connect Quebec to Lake Saint-Jean. For several months now, Olivier has been thinking about this idea. Indeed, almost a year ago, he was going to Lac Saint-Jean in the Gringo bus, to take part in the CRYO Races. I told myself that next year I was going to run from our home to t...he Lake for the race, crossing lakes, rivers and woods. Nevertheless, 2020 will have been an amazing year. A year marked by solidarity & innovation. In 2020, we will have carried out 3 major fundraising events, reviewed the programming of 3 expeditions and will have been touched by 3358 people whom, in solidarity with young people living with cancer, have made a donation to the foundation. We are therefore starting the year 2021 inspired and motivated by all the positive elements that we have been able to capture in recent months.... We also start 2021 by celebrating the 25 years of the On the Tip of the Toes foundation. January 2020 didn't foreshadow the year we have just lived! Despite everything, it was marked by several successes, new collaborations and great encounters, most of the time in front of a computer screen! Our team will have been able to approach each challenge with creativity and determination. Their dedication to young people living with cancer is a blessing. The next few days will be an opportunity for the whole team to enjoy the great outdoors, to recharge their batteries ...in view of their return to the office in 2021. An end of year gift that could not have come at a better time! The On the Tip of the Toes foundation won the "jury's favorite" award as part of the 2020 Outdoors Excellence Awards from the professional association Aventure Écotourisme Québec (AEQ) and the Association des Parcs Régionaux du Québec. The members of the jury noted that they had been amazed by the creativity of the alternative programs developed to replace the therapeutic adventure expeditions that were to take pl...ace in 2020. Congratulations to the two other organizations based in Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean who stood out. The outdoor research and expertise laboratory of UQAC which won in the "Partner category" and at Contact Nature Rivière-à-Mars which won the "Innovation in times of crisis award ". It is therefore with hearts filled with pride and gratitude that we end this year full of emotions.

Les deux Mario s'entrainent en solo en vue de leur défi du mois de février. Ils sont tous deux portés d'une mission qui est de faire rayonner la fondation sur la pointe des pieds en embarquant le plus de gens possible dans leur aventure.
