So excited to see this swanky wrecker hitting the road. CAA Niagara has done it again. In addition to a $20,000 donation and a number of volunteer hours this year, they've added this beauty to their list of givebacks. This wrecker truck is painted in our agency colours, branded with our logo and will help provide visibility and awareness about our organization. From the bottom of our hearts, we'd like to thank them for their support and dedication to Food4Kids Niagara and helping us fight childhood hunger in our community.

At the beginning of June, Jim set a goal to raise $2000 to help feed kids in Niagara. If he met the goal, he would shave his beard, hair and mustache. Fast forward 12 hours and he met the goal. He decided to sweeten the pot by increasing the goal to $5000 and having his son, Greg, join him in the shaving campaign. Clearly a lot of people wanted to see him bald because to date he has raised over $7000 for Food4Kids Niagara. So many kids will benefit from his and Greg's kindness. What an incredible act of kindness. Lunch Lady Group very generously provided 900 meals to children in our program today. Each child will get to enjoy a serving of Shepard's Pie, a Topsy Turvy pasta dish and a Chicken Taco with a side of apples! Thanks for helping to fill the tummies of 300 fantastic kiddos in Niagara. Our kiddos love fruit cups and Johnny Rocco's Italian Grill recently donated 74 cases (1776 individual servings) of fruit cups to Food4Kids Niagara. In an industry that has been hard hit by this pandemic, they are still finding ways to give back, and for that we are grateful.

In response to COVID-19, all Ontario schools will be closed until April 5. Food4Kids is committed to providing nourishment to children when school is not in session and we will be continuing to do that. In lieu of food packages, families will be receiving a grocery voucher to assist them with the provision of food through this closure. After hearing too much news lately that didn't make them feel good, Zappi's Pizza and Pasta, Italian Eatery decided to ask the community to share some good news stories about local agencies. The result? Lots of people in Niagara learning about some great community initiatives. The bonus? Food4Kids Niagara was selected to receive a $200 grocery gift card and a $100 Zappi's gift card.
