More opportunity for farmers on the Prairies...it will be a while still before Grassfed and Regenerative foods get wide acceptance but awareness is awareness. T...he opportunity to develop a brand and tell your story is driving this change, paving a path for more to follow. We will continue to pioneer new paths and reconnect with olds ways. Flexibility and diversity creates resiliency, and if 2020 has taught us anything, we need to be resilient if not anti-fragile. See more
Porterhouse Steak aged to perfection and grilled directly over hot coals with a creamy bacon mixture, yummy!
Mum and Dad decided we need more productive garden space and less lawn to mow! So this space is going to be for raspberries, haskaps, squash and potatoes. Roanie was very happy to have another spot to do some diiiiggin.... I expect the production next to the caragana hedge will do well, it's a nitrogen fixer, the open soil will probably double as a caragana nursery bed, as it drops a prolific amount of bean seeds. I wondered for a long time could you breed caragana to be a perennial bean crop, at least as feed. The pigs and chickens love getting into the hedge and hoovering up all the dropped seed. Cheers Curtis
UPDATE: little kitty is home and doing well. She'll be on antibiotics for the few days, and on a little vacation getting to sleep inside with the cool nights. ... She had a quick visit with her friends and fam when she got home to show off her new look, and now she's hanging inside. The vet thought kitty was a very nice and rambunctious little girl, and was happy to see her pull through the surgery, and thought after a little pampering over the next few days, she'll be back to normal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anyone feel like saving a kitten's life? We have a kitten that had an accident (not exactly sure what) but we've checked with a vet and the cost to save the kitty's life is roughly $400-500 for a surgery. This is barn cat for us and we're aren't in the position financially to put that kind of money towards a barn cat. But its a sweet cat and are hoping to avoid euthanizing it. We're just checking if we can get 25-30 people who are feeling companionate and able to donate $10-20 to help save this little kitty's life. The surgery would involve removing an eye, so she'll most likely become a semi indoor cat for at least the winter. Or if anyone wanted to purchase a 10 lb ground beef pack for $100, that would be immediate funds we could allocate to helping this kitty out. We can deliver locally and in Brandon/Winnipeg. If you want to help out pm me.
