Household food insecurity is on the rise and many of those impacted do not use food banks. While food banks provide a great service and people rely on them, the problem is much larger and more solutions are needed. #foodforallcanada #foodsecurity

For children, living in a food insecure household is associated with childhood mental health problems like hyperactivity and inattention. Experiences of hunger during childhood have a serious and lasting impact on mental health, manifesting in greater risks of depression and suicidal ideation in adolescence and early adulthood.
