Putting out a call for bales of spoiled hay for mulching my food forest project, close to sable river, will pay for delivery of large quantities if available. Pm if you can supply. Thanks.

Excited for the next additions this spring (if it ever comes!) Ordered plum tree whips and sea buckthorn, and have had date plum persimmon germinate over winter. Lots of korean pine seedlings from last years potting and golden willow to go in, as well as the new jerusalem artichoke and aronia berry beds. Wildflowers will again abound, and the mulching will begin in earnest. The duck and hen enclosure is fenced, and some split rail fencing done to separate the public/priva...te space as well. Looking forward to seeing how the yellowhorn have fared over the winter, and to see some new growth on the European Hawthorne planted last year thanks to a kind donation of seedlings. Check in as spring approaches to see what's new as the project continues. Thanks again for everyone who has supported my vision, in whatever way you've brought us closer to (fruit)ion.

Some updates and pics on this spring's work. After a very late killing frost, followed by a 4 day scorching heat wave, the fruit tree guilds are coming together. Yesterday was a day of planting rhubarb, Elecampane, yellowhorn trees, serviceberry, and elderberry. The golden willows, Korean pine, goji berry, and aronia are doing extremely well and will be planted in the coming weeks. The beans planted as green manure around the tree guilds will be mulched over once the other members have established, with the mulch made from trees onsite as the conversion to edibles continues. The new batch of empress trees have sprouted and will soon be planted out to line the property border with it's beautiful purple blooms, with willows for crafting supplies and Yellowhorn for nuts and pollinator support.

Hi, Everyone! Spring is quickly approaching and with it the need to get our greenhouse up and running, for spring starts and seedling trees. We are looking to build an earthship greenhouse! With that comes the need to find about 300 used tires :-/ any size, any condition. If you are able to point in the right direction, or you have a pile in your own back lot somewhere, please let us know. Thanks.
