Dr. Chris Mackie issued the Instruction under Ontario’s Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act today. While the instruction applies to most people, the following individuals are exempt from having to wear face coverings: Children under the age of 12 People who have a medical condition or disability which inhibits their ability to wear a face covering Those unable to apply or remove a face covering without help; People with accommodations under the Ontario Human Rights Code or the Accessibility for Ontarians with a Disabilities Act Staff or agents of an enclosed public space who are in an area of the premises that is designated for them and not accessible to the public, or in an area separated by a physical barrier, such as plexiglass. There is no requirement for anyone to provide proof of exemption.

In following public health guidelines, we feel confident that all safety measures are in place and all our customers will be able to enjoy a safe shopping experience. With the onset of Stage 2 and more and more businesses opening, we will no longer be offering delivery service. Our last day of deliveries will be Friday, July 3rd. We will continue to offer shopping from 8am-9am for our seniors and anyone who is Immune System Compromised. Well.. what can we say.. The Dorchester commmunity has come through again for the Dorchester Foodbank! In 3 days, a grand total of $5390 was raised for the Foodbank! We would like to thank the Dorchester residents for donating at the tills,$2390!! So as promised, Dorchester Foodland donated $1000 in gift cards as well. We would also like to thank, for their notable donations.. McLellan Electric for their $1000 cheque, the Monday Night Ladies Volleyball for their $500 cash donation and Val Griffiths Chapter of IODE for their $500 gift cards. We have proved .. We are all in this together! Well done community of Dorchester !

We have discontinued our $5, $10, and $20 Foodbank bags and will be replacing them with $5,$10 and $20 Gift Cards. The gift cards are much easier and safer to distribute to families in need. We will begin accepting donations for gift cards Friday, April 3rd till Monday April 6th. Dorchester Foodland will MATCH all donations up to $1000. We encourage the community to help us s...upport our local Foodbank. Physical Distancing Guidelines Effective Thursday April 2, the following guidelines will be implemented at Dorchester Foodland. These guidelines are consistent with those being rolled out across the country for most food store operations. We ask that everyone adhere to the following so that we can control the physical distancing between our valued customers and employees with the hopes that we can keep everyone safe. 1. The maximum number of customers permitted in store at an...y one time is 35. An outside queue respecting a 2m distance between customers will be created during peak volume times that would exceed our maximum capacity. 2. All hand baskets to be removed and only carts allowed to promote 2m distancing 3. Available carts to be disinfected prior to each use 4. Limit ONE person per family to enter the store and shop 5. Follow the one way direction markers on the floor in each aisle 6.Keep your cart with you at all times and keep a 2m distance with other customers 7.Respect the signs on the floor at the front checkout area 8.If using reusable bags, customers are asked to parcel their own groceries. 9. Deliveries will continue Mondays, Thursdays and Friday’s. Due to large call volumes , we respectfully ask that ONLY SENIORS and SELF ISOLATING FAMILIES use this service. We prefer that orders are emailed to [email protected] A reminder that 8am to 9am daily is Seniors Shopping Hour.
