Sustain Ontario has been key to building momentum for this bill and helping move this important piece of legislation forward. We now have endorsements from almost 60 organizations from across the province! The Food Policy Council of KFL&A is thrilled that Bill 216 "Food Literacy for Students Act has just passed two legislative readings. When it comes into effect, Grade 1-12 students will have experiential food education in every grade! The FPC is one of many organizations across the province who have been advocating for years that learning how to grow and prepare good food is fundamental in supporting students' health and well-being. We are so excited that this Bill takes a major step in goal becoming a reality. Link: https://youtu.be/B7CHe2ryJLU The FPC has had the pleasure of working with MPP Kramp on this initiative and looks forward to giving input on curriculum development.
