Food Stash is seeking Milk, Cheese & Vegan Alternatives. We have expanded our programs to respond to rising food insecurity. As a result, we're in need of more supplier partners who can help us maintain a steady supply of dairy and vegan alternatives.... If you don't know what we do, we pick up surplus food from retailers, farmers and wholesalers to make sure good food doesn't go to waste when it hasn't sold. We then redistribute that food to where it's needed most. If you'd like to donate these products or learn more, please contact our Logistics Team Lead, Kevin, at [email protected] Thank you! #grocery #supermarket #farming #wholesale #nofoodwaste #impact #donatefood #foodrescue #foodrecovery #foodsecurity #rescuedfood #zerowaste #vancouver #burnabybc #dairy #dairyfree #cheese #community #payitforward

The BC Centre for Disease Control has put out their second round of community surveys: "asking you to tell us how you are doing. It’s been a tough year and everyone has been impacted in different ways. With COVID-19 vaccinations underway, it is time to think about our recovery and how we can support you through this next phase." http://www.bccdc.ca//diseases-con/covid-19/covid-19-survey

Today marks the successful completion (and opening of the next chapter) of a collaborative COVID-19 response project: From just an idea back in March and 9-months later with 3 different initiatives collectively we have delivered 44,500 meals to the most vulnerable in our communities. Thank you Guistra Foundation for the generous funding! Thank you to Savoury Chef for producing the healthy meals.... Thank you to Tristan and Michelle (of Vancouver Food Runners) who skillfully energized and organized the volunteers to deliver the meals! Food Stash was delighted to serve as the partner charity. Equally, it’s wonderful to know that this model is being replicated and the generosity of spirit continues!
Our November Impact Report We've started representing the number of members/families in our Rescued Food Box program (RFB) vs our Pedal to Plate program (P2P) . Our goal is to make the P2P just as enticing as RFB by responding to feedback & improving accessibility, thereby growing our membership in P2P so new members can receive their food via electric trike instead of car ... Thank you CTV News for doing an amazing job covering our story and sharing what we do It's so amazing seeing our staff, volunteers and members represented. Our community comes together to do such important work to reclaim the value of nutritious, useful food. Thank you to our community for helping us accomplish this! That includes United Way of the Lower Mainland and the Government of Canada!
The United Nations provide important resources that put food waste into perspective... When we throw away food we also discard everything that went into producing it (water, land, fuel, labour, etc). Meanwhile 825 million people experience hunger.... When we value food, we value our planet and the people who produce that food. To make a difference you can donate at: foodstash.ca/donate Between now & Jan. 1, donations will be doubled up to $15,000 #rescuedfood #foodrescue #foodrecovery #foodforall #ZeroHunger #zerowaste #zerowastevancouver #nonprofit #communitycare #sustainability #global #locallove #localpower #canada #vancouver #burnaby #nohunger #nofoodwaste #valuable #water #land #resources #farmers #farmerappreciation
