Throughout the month of May we will be hosting a whole bunch of Online Opportunities for our dancers to partake in. Over this past year, our community has been faced with overwhelming challenges ...that have been felt by everyone. Some people who have never experienced issues might now dealing with concerns like social isolation, food security, and safe and reliable transportation to doctors’ appointments. And for some that already experience these hurdles, they are left dealing with navigating them in an even more challenging climate. By investing in over 30 COVID Relief Programs across our communities, options for support are now available to assist those that need it most. Saturday classes were filled with vets, super heroes, teachers, artists, and of course some dancers too! Thank you to everyone who participated in Career Week this week!
How are you supporting local this weekend? Feel free to tag your favourite local businesses in the comments too!
This couldn't be truer than than true for this Monday. Lets keep our chins high, and our battements higher dancers!
Ahoy Mates! It’s never a dull moment for our Twirling Teacups when they are on a pirate adventure!
Saturdays are for the littles! We can't wait to see all of our little dancers online today! Be sure to check out this weeks' Footprints Fam E-Blast to read our full online success guide and watch the video to access your online class links from your parent portal!... Today's online class tips: 1 - Position your camera to have a full body view as possible. In order to give the most technical feedback possible, our teachers need to be able to see the dancers’ bodies. Try to position your camera so that we can see as much of the dancer’s body as possible. 2 - Login as your student’s name. Our staff will only be admitting students with their name on the register. Please be sure to change your Zoom name to your child’s name, or just last name so we can admit them into class. 3 - Become familiar with the microphone button. During class teachers will ask students to mute and unmute themselves. Make sure you know where this button is.
Our Diamond team is working hard with Miss Kristen on Zoom!
Can you already believe its the first Friday since the New Year?! We are pumped and excited to be knocking out the New Years Resolutions with our dancers online this week. We can't wait to join our competitive teams online for training tonight! Check out today's top tips for having a successful online dance class:... 1 - Pin your teacher’s screen. Click the three little dots on the top of the teacher’s window and select Pin. This will keep your teachers screen as the biggest window during class. 2 - Even in small spaces it’s possible to work that technique! Arm and head movements can always be done 100% full out with energy and clarity. Facial expressions and performance can be larger than life (even more so than in class with a mask on!). Older students can still be actively applying and fixing corrections from teachers. And always, dance with energy! 3 - Dress for success! We would love to see all of our dancers in their uniform for our online classes. Just like wearing real pants makes us grown ups feel more, well grown up, your child’s dance uniform gives them that extra dancey-feeling.
A little Teacup ready for Miss Kristen! Want to be featured on our page? Send us your #fdckeepsdancing photos to [email protected]!
COVID-19 Update - Orange Framework All current students will be required to complete a formal health screening questionnaire prior to attending class. A detailed e-mail outlining steps to access your health screening questionnaire has been sent to all current families. Please let us know if you have any questions!
So excited! These dancers missed the competitive stage last season but are super excited to get to work for this years season! (No matter what it may look like!)
