It's sheetmulching time! So little work for such huge benefits in a yard and garden. Hands down the best way I have found to deal with weedy areas and create productive soil at the same time. Basically a biodegradable weed barrier(cardboard) gets covered with mulch. Over a season it breaks down into amazing soil. The one suggested on this website has ALOT more added to it, making it more like a compost pile on the ground. http://tobyhemenway.com//how-to-the-ultimate-bomb-proof-s/

Masanobu Fukuoka's natural farming method is astounding, and yet simple. Only person in Japan at the time who was growing rice without flooding his fields, and never tilled. White clover cover crops and nitrogen fixing trees. Check out some videos here: http://www.onestrawrevolution.net/One_Straw_Rev/Videos.html

For the last 8 years I have been using a planting calendar to guide when to plant and harvest things. A planting calendar maps what celestial bodies will be influencing the earth and when, giving a person the chance to enhance certain aspects of what they plant or do. For instance today is fruiting day, meaning a person should choose this day for harvesting or planting fruit or seed based crops(Or any crop they want to get good seed from). Check out the website, its not just about gardening they also have recommendations for everything from when to cut hair to when to air out your house... https://ca.rhythmofnature.net/lunar-calendar-20170502-n-edm
