This week we thank all our family and friends who helped us with the greenhouse plastic. Trying to arrange enough people on the perfect wind-free day was not the easiest- but thankfully most of them are retired and love us for those who aren’t retired we appreciate that extra push that you gave us. The wind ended up picking up over the day so everyone’s hands were hurting from trying to grip the plastic (not easy) and we didn’t get everything we hoped to get done though we are that much closer to a fully finished greenhouse. This greenhouse will be the perfect environment for our 400 tomatoes (6 varieties that we love), 200 cucumbers (2 varieties we love) and 50 zucchini (2 varieties we love). Our other greenhouse will eventually have our 200 peppers, 200 eggplants and basil plants. @headwatersfarm.ca
Farmers markets will be abundant with things that farmers have been tending to for months! Be sure to show your support through this next lockdown- you are allowed to leave your house to shop at the markets! If this is something you don’t feel comfortable doing feel free to message us for a pickup at the farm.
Pop Up Market today! In the future every Thursday from now on 4pm-6. @headwatersfarm.ca @randeesbees @marissasherbgarden and our products! Our selection starts off with some of our greenhouse veg, sprouts, greens, wilds, @headwatersfarm.ca bagels, @randeesbees products, @marissasherbgarden products, eggs, seedlings and more to expand (mushrooms, meats, oats, etc).

Scents of fires and fermented apples in the air~ focusing on rekindling self care and time with friends and family during these transitional shoulder seasons.
Reflection season is coming up. Goldenrods are almost past their blooming prime. A frost hit our neck of the woods. Our last of the harvests are happening and some greenhouse plantings are in. That feeling of slowing down in one area and picking up in another. Our minds are already preparing for the 2021 growing season and we are in winter prep mode with our wood delivery on the way. Who wants to start a farmers online meet up group where we can support one another through these times and share ways in which we can live holistically as the folks who grow food for their local communities? Our only time to catch up is for 1 minute at farmers markets. Oh life. More to come.

On the subject of supporting local @mynewroots did a post today on the @gocanadaunited campaign; highlights Canadians who passionately and consciously own businesses that support their local communities. All of our fellow @ptborfm @cobourgfarmersmarket @ptbodowntownmarket vendors fall under this #canadaunited mission...supporting local and investing in your neighbours/friends/family and voting with your dollars. To name a few @wildgingerfarmstead @hunnabees @ptbofoodshop Photo taken of our 8 weeks CSA program (currently in week 10). We are taking names for next year so PM us to be added to our email list.
Thanks to @randees_bees for this inside scoop of our farm days! Featuring our friends @woolyband and plus farmers @kat.in.the.farmhat @forageandflower8 and @innervore

As land stewards and farmers we enhance and protect our natural environment with a viable means of nutrition.
Our summer 2020 tea blend is coming together nicely! So far we have yarrow, mullein, anise hyssop, and chamomile all dried up and ready to blend...what else should we add?

Hi folks! We have had a rough past couple of weeks, along with most farmers in the area, as a 6 week drought has killed 30% of our crops. Our interns @forageandflower8 created a @gofundme in hopes of some support during these trying times. More to the story than just the drought so please go to our bio and read the link. Spread the word if you could!
Hi folks! These past few weeks have been some of the hardest we have had to face- the drought effected 30% of our crops. Please consider reading more of our story on our page about how/why you can help us out. Spread the word if you could!
Always reminded of the support Peterborough folks surround us with each market day. Humbled by all the concerns for the farmers through these dry times. Gratitude always lightens up the attitude.
