Subject: Health Services during RED ZONE and new directives from Canada Revenue Agency pertaining to Osteopathy Hello everyone, I would like to start by thanking you for your confidence and in clinic presence over the years; it has truly been our pleasure to help you continue to enjoy your active lifestyle, with a heightened sense of well-being, without pain or injury.... 1. GOOD NEWS Force Vitale is remaining open. Although restrictions have increased for the month of October (RED ZONE), Osteopathy is considered an essential service, and Massage therapy services are not included in the restrictions. Unless advised otherwise, treatments will continue with the same protocols already in place. It will be our pleasure to receive you for a treatment. 2. OSTEOPATHY NO LONGER EXEMPT FROM TAXES Canada Revenue Agency has informed us that Osteopathy is no longer exempt from GST / QST. Effective immediately, we are required by law to charge taxes on Osteopathic services (https://www.canada.ca//news108-excise-gst-hst-news-no-108-). I wish I could have given you more notice but just received the directive myself, 30th September 2020. Therefore as of the 1st October 2020, all treatments given by Julie Mischook will be subjected to GST / QST. Osteopathy associations are fighting this decision so we hope it will become exempt again but until such time, we must comply with the new directives. BONNES NOUVELLES. Force Vitale reste ouverte. Bien que les restrictions aient augmenté pour le mois d'octobre (ZONE ROUGE), l'ostéopathie est considérée comme un service essentiel et les services de massothérapie ne sont pas inclus dans les restrictions. Sauf avis contraire, les traitements se poursuivront avec les mêmes protocoles déjà en place. Il nous fera plaisir de vous recevoir pour un soin. 2. L'OSTÉOPATHIE N'EST PLUS EXONÉRÉE DE TAXES L'Agence du revenu du Canada nous a informé que l'ostéopathie n'est plus exonérée de la TPS / TVQ. En vigueur immédiatement, nous sommes tenus par la loi de facturer des taxes sur les services d'ostéopathie (https://www.canada.ca//news108-nouvelles-accise-tps-tvh-no).
