When #technology and #GreatPartnerships work together The U.S. District Court in the Middle District of North Carolina has sentenced a suspect to 10 years in #prison for #IllegalPossession of a #firearm. Brandon Francisco Gamez was arrested during a traffic stop in Sanford, NC in October 2019 after attempting to flee on foot. During the arrest, Gamez was found to be in possession of a .45 caliber Glock pistol and illegal drugs. Following the arrest, the gun in Gamez’s posse...ssion was determined to have been used in four previous shooting incidents, including one that occurred the day before his arrest, after it was test-fired and entered into #NIBIN. This case is the result from the #collaboration of #SAFELeeCounty a #partnership of #CriminalJustice, #ServiceAgency and #CommunityStakeholders with the mandate to #reduce #violence across Lee County, and #ATF. When #InternationalCollaborations with #IBIS helps create #investigative #leads in #murdercases. On April 7th, 2021, investigators revealed that the gun in Tommy Lee Sparta’s possession was linked to two murders in Kingston and St-Andrew, Jamaica in February and March 2019. Sparta was arrested in December 2019, pleading guilty to possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition.
