My job is so so special. I had the honor of shooting @halliesilv and her man Kris! And let me tell you how special it was... Kris got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him, when I tell you it was the most beautiful proposal I've witnessed I'm not exaggerating at all. I bawled like an absolute baby as we all did. I'm honored every single time you ask me to capture your special moments... but a proposal just hits different on so many levels. ... "Can we bring our dog with us?!" My answer is always a big capital letter YES! Your pets are part of your family! And when they are about to become fur siblings you absolutely should document it. I had such a fantastic evening with Laura, Bob, and their beautiful pup Murphy! Who totally ignited a puppy fever that I didn't know I had in me ... I'm thrilled for them to be welcoming their new addition soon, and can't wait to see how Mr. Murphy does as a big brother!

Little miss Haisley stole the dang show! She is such an alert little babe, who was also just a wonderful model! The love from her mama just pours out of her and it's so beautiful to watch. This sweet girl is so cherished.

I had a serious blast with these absolute gems the other night! We were all being so goofy by the end I think my face hurt from smiling so much. I'm working my way through my winter mini edits! And I just had to share these two love birds!

These brothers have such an incredible bond! The way little George looks up to Richard is just the sweetest thing. I think his big brother is his hero!

The fog has me thinking of Newfoundland here today! I know some people get really nervous in fog, especially while driving. But for me something about this weather just makes me feel like I'm back home, cloaked in the comfort that is the ocean air.

Oh man it has been a minute since I introduced myself here! Hi, I'm Kielan! The face behind the lens with Forest & Fern Photography. I've wanted to get into photography since I was a teenager, after many years, and one baby later, here I am finally pursuing my dreams. ... Here are 8 facts about me!: 1. I was born and raised in Newfoundland, and we made the big move to landlocked Alberta when I was starting school, but we tried to get a home visit in every year. Newfoundland will always be home to me. 2. I'm a mama to my beautiful 1.5 year old Sadie, who is my main reason for finally jumping into this business. 3. I've been obsessed with Tattoos since I was young, my dad actually signed for my first few. And now I'm pretty darn covered in them! 4. On off days or editing days you'll find me casually re-watching Gilmore girls for the ?? time. Fully obsessed! 5. I never actually look like the above photo . Most days you'll find me rocking a mom bun and leggings. Speaking of, if you aren't shopping for your cozies at Aerie... run there now! 6. I'm completely terrified of clowns. You'll never see me run as fast 7. I cannot get enough of true crime podcasts. I spend way too long listening to them and then freaking myself out when my husband isn't home. 8. We have two cats who I absolutely adore! We started naming all our pets after Harry Potter characters and it's stuck so far. We named our cats Neville and Tonks If you're still reading, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of your support over this last year. The first time I met Emma, she was maybe 6 months old. I remember doing a trip around Newfoundland with my cousin and making a pit stop in to see baby Emma. So, to date myself, look at her all grown up! Now, she is an incredibly vibrant, fun, kind, and caring young woman. Most of my immediate family still lives in Newfoundland, so when I heard Irene and her family were moving out to Alberta I was so excited! If it wasn't for covid I'm sure we'd be seeing a lot more of each o...ther these days. Having a little piece of my family and home so close brings me some calm in this crazy year we've had. Irene booked my Christmas mini's this weekend and I just knew I had to steal Emma away for a little bit to do some portrait shots. Emma has been interested in photography and she is such a natural in front of the camera as well! I mean do you see these?! She is so stunning. I know for sure this isn't the last you'll be seeing of her on my feed!

Breaking all the rules today but these cuties are totally worth it! I can't wait for Christmas mini's this weekend, it's going to be an absolute blast
