Forest Hill's TreeGeneration is having their annual Vesey's Bulb Fundraiser. I hope you will help support by asking friends and neighbours to order something from the catalogue. Funds raised go toward the grade six graduation tree or bench, as well as our big mulch we do in the spring that promote good growth and health in the 40 plus trees that have been planted since 2011.

Tomorrow. May 29th is Mulch Day. If you are free at all during the day please consider coming to the school to help spread mulch to all the trees. The kids make the piles go down fast but adult supervision and help are needed as well.

Grade six students dug the hole for their graduation tree. In April we will start the process to pick a quote and have the plaque made. Then in June a little dedication event for the graduates.

Both of my kids still talk about their beloved Kindergarten ECEs! Forest Hill wouldn't be the same without them!

Today is #ECEAppreciationDay! We are so thankful for all our devoted #WRDSB early childhood educators. Our elementary schools are a better place because of you and we can't thank you enough for the amazing work you do. You set up our students for success: http://bit.ly/2y3ep8x

Help! During the Veseys Fall Fundraiser one item was short shipped. I wrote on the order form "short shipped" and meant to write down the person's phone number so I could call them when the item came in. I did not write the phone number down and I have no way to figure out who these bulbs belong to. So please if you are the person or know the person who ordered from the Forest Hill 's Treegeneration but did not get their bulbs please let me know. Thank you. Laurie Hunter

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day - Every Child Matters. It's a day to observe and honour residential school survivors, those who did not survive, and their desc...endants. Since September 30 falls on a Saturday this year, #WRDSB students and staff will acknowledge Orange Shirt Day on September 29. It's just one of the ways we support, educate and reconcile our relationship with Indigenous people. To learn more about #OrangeShirtDay, visit www.orangeshirtday.org. Visit www.twitter.com/wrdsb or www.instagram.com/wr_dsb to share how you are honouring Orange Shirt Day by using the hashtags #IndigenousWRDSB and #OrangeShirtDay.
