Thank you Tracy Hillman from The Marsh Store for joining our happy bunch and inspiring us with all the goodies in your store! Our Zoom reminded us of the Brady Bunch - maybe we need a theme song now.

We are so excited to congratulate our member, April, for winning this award! "This award I am holding is the industry's choice award that was determined by a panel of judges." Our profile picture is one of April's dolls and her work is spectacular. We are so happy she is being recognized.

If you don't follow Aprilart Dolls, you might want to. Our very own Guild member April, delights us with her incredible work and sometimes the dolls even wear smocked dresses!

Remember the Curved Line Smocking class that Gloria and Karen presented last year? We learned on inserts for this bib pattern. Here is 10-week old Baby Kate, ready for her Easter dinner video call with extended family.

Since our meeting for this month is cancelled, that does not stop us from recapping our meeting from last month. Michaelanne from Stache Fabric and Notions invited us into her lovely and welcoming shop. Michaelanne spoke to us about the psychology of colour. It was a fun and informative evening with a variety of quilts to view and to illustrate the way colour affects us as individuals.

I remember many Easters in years gone by when we were madly smocking and finishing the Easter dresses in time for little girls to wear! A much quieter Easter this year, but still nice to dress up at home! Here is my 2-month-old granddaughter, sporting her bishop dress. ~ Karen Try

Just a reminder that there is a change of venue for our meeting this evening. We will be meeting at Stache Fabrics and Notions on King Street at 6:30pm. The ever entertaining Michaelanne will enlighten us on colour. Looking forward to checking out all the beautiful colours in the fabrics available in the store.

Substitute "craft" for "smocking" and here's a great New Year's resolution:

The Forest City Smocking Guild ladies wish you good health and much happiness in 2020. Our potluck gatherings are always joyful with great food and lots of laughs. New members are always welcome so if your new year's resolution is to explore a different needle art this year, why not give smocking a try.
