Forge Training 07.06.2021

Congratulations to April’s member of the month @evan.pritchard.562 Below is what Evan had to say about his time so far at Forge! "Like many of my predecessors, I've been with Forge since it's onset. Though my adventure with this awesome group started long before that. I started training with Locky at Studio 4 and then followed him to Catalyst. He has always had a unique way to motivate me to push me harder than I wanted. I'm pretty easy to spot, I'm always there at 5:30 and ...almost always on the bench press...even when I'm not. Never afraid to take on any challenge, so if you wanna do something but don't wanna go solo feel free to ask. There isn't much to say about Forge that hasn't been said before. It's so much more than a gym, it's a community. And one that I am so glad to be part of. It has such a way of including everyone despite anyones level of experience. There is always such a positive vibe in the air and it's great to see everyone always pushing and supporting one another. Even with the interesting year that they had thrown at them, they've continued to persevere and always make sure to provide a clean and safe environment for everyone. To say Forge is the best gym could be an understatement...or an overstatement, but it's the only gym that I wanna be at. Think strong and lift heavy!" - Evan #yyj #yyjfitness #fitnessjourney

Covid-19 Update Hello to all of our Forge clients, members, and friends. We have just been informed by our local health officer that masks must be worn at all times within the gym, including while exercising in your personal area Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone to stay at least 3m away from other members and staff. We’ll update you on any other changes we need to make as more information becomes available.... Let’s all do what it takes to get through this next wave of the virus and provincial restrictions! A little discomfort will go a long way to allow us to keep training while keeping our neighbours and community healthy. Thank you to our staff, trainers, and members for helping us make the gym such a positive environment - Hal, Tina, and Locky

Enrolment for the next Nutrition Reset program is now open! Dr. Marie-Eve, Ph.D decided this year to bring it online in a group setting to be able to help more people improve their nutrition at a fraction of the cost that it normally cost to work with her on an individual basis. And what she has found with the group setting format from her experience of running it at the Rise Health Centre is that, not only you benefit from her expertise and experience, but you get to intera...ct with other people in similar situations that will probably experience the same challenges so you will benefit from the extra support from the group and their own tips and tricks to be successful! The Nutrition Reset program is a coaching program designed to help you implement healthy nutrition habits. By the end of the program, you can expect to see an improvement in body composition, an increase in energy and performance, and overall health. This program includes: lifetime access to the content hub with each module focusing on one habit to implement with of audio lessons, action tasks, handouts, guides, and cheat sheets; weekly 60-minutes group coaching calls (6 in total), each with specific habits to be implemented and opportunity to discuss your progress and troubleshoot any challenges you might face and ask any questions relevant to the habits discussed; regular emails with reminders, motivation bits, and tips so that you stay focused and motivated. This program is for anyone who wants to: improve their nutrition know how much, when, and what to eat learn about what makes a complete and balanced diet demystify all the controversial diet and nutrition advice simply: feel, perform, and look better! Shout out to our December Member of The Month Barbara Perin! Here's what she had to say: A healthy lifestyle and always striving to reach my potential has always been intrinsic to who I am. The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best. - Epictetus Being recognized by my peers for something I absolutely love to do is an awesome complement; all you other Grinders at Forge, thanks for the inspiration. I’ve tried several ot...her gyms in Victoria before realizing Forge was the gym where I could really push myself and see what I’m capable of. From the highly skilled trainers to all the excellent equipment one needs to level up in any athletic capacity necessary to fulfill my fitness goals...Forge delivers. With the uptick of COVID-19 cases on Vancouver island (and the lower mainland), we want to remind our patrons and local community about our stringent heath safety practices including: - Masks for trainers when they can not maintain 6 feet distance from clients - 30+ Bookable training stations that have a minimum of 2.5x2.5m working space - Enhanced PPE for higher risk activities (face-to-face training) - Plexiglass and physical barriers where appropriate (Rig, bathro...oms, assault bikes, etc.) - Enhanced cleaning protocols and cleaning supplies at EVERY station - Open line of communication with VIHA and Worksafe BC and our members . We are working to keep the scope of activities we are doing at Forge safe, but are doing so mindfully and with the sanction of our local health authority. COVID-19 UPDATE We are reaching out to let you know what our next steps are in regards to the new BC Covid-19 policies that have been implemented province wide as of today's date of November 19. TL;DR: Gym is open for individual training and PT, classes cancelled (for now) and masks must be worn at all times ... Forge Training is still open for personal training and individual training in our pre-bookable training stations. As of right now, we have cancelled all classes until we get further clarification regarding the new restrictions and how they apply to our strength & conditioning, boxing, and kickboxing classes. We recognize that there is some ambiguity as to what we can and can not do based on the current regulations posted on the BC Government Covid-19 website. Once we have further clarification, we'll be able to bring classes back, even if they are somewhat different. We know that some of you depend on those classes quite a bit and we are focussed on learning the safest way to bring those back to you. Masks have also been mandated inside public indoor spaces. This is also an area that we have asked for clarification on but until we hear back, we would kindly ask that you wear a mask at all times while visiting Forge Training. We know it's uncomfortable and hot but hopefully we'll have clarification on this mandate soon. Thanks very much for your understanding and support. We are working as a team to provide the most logical, safest, coordinated, and timely response as possible during the second wave of Covid-19. We will update you with the most up-to-date information as it becomes available. Hal, Tina, & Locky
