A recent pic of the now abandoned route. I know that yellow came into National Parks in the early 1970`s.

A shot of the old Columbia & Western Labarthe Rwy Tunnel near Castlegar, BC. This section of the railway was bi-passed for the building of the dam on the Columbia River at Castlegar in the 1960`s and is underwater for half of the year. 604now.com

Known as the Big Slide, this section of road pictured here in 1908 is still a dangerous section of Hwy 12 which runs from Lytton to Lillooet. BC Archives.
