Happy Wednesday Everyone! I wanted to let you all know about a new technique I have recently learned. I have started integrating cupping therapy as a new modality during my treatments. Here’s a little info on it:... It’s been practiced by many cultures throughout history to help treat various conditions. It helps with getting into the deeper layers of tissue in the body and is a great tool for tight and achy muscles. A suction is placed on soft tissue to create a vacuum that helps with increasing circulation, removes metabolic waste, and helps ease muscular tension while making fascial tissue more pliable. It may also benefit sleep if you are dealing with insomnia. I also like to use cupping with active movement which I’ve found helps with mobility and decreases pain. Ask me about it in your next session and see if it may be right for you. reflex /'re-fleks/ noun 1. an action that is performed as a response to a stimulus and without conscious thought. 2. directed or turned back upon one's self, mirror-like.... Appropriately named, Reflexology is an ancient therapy that creates a response in the body through reflex points on the feet and hands that relate to, and mirror, the different glands and organs of the body. Reflexology helps by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls our bodily functions while at rest. This allows our body and mind to be aware of our body systems and restore its own balance. It may be used to help with chronic pain, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and depression, PMS and hormonal imbalances, stress management, and wellbeing. #reflexology #chronicpain #footmassage Margaret Keats, RMT @rmt.maggie @naelshawwa . . . . . #massagetherapy #rmt #rmttoronto #torontormt #torontowellness #torontohealth #the6ix #torontolife

Today marks the one year anniversary to when we closed our doors for what we thought would be a short 2 weeks to flatten the curve to this pandemic. Little did we know, 2 weeks became 2.5 months of uncertainty and hope. . We opened our doors again on June 1st, 2020 and we are so grateful to have been able to remain open, to serve our clients and help people through the toughest of times, both physically and mentally. We have taken strict measures to ensure we have a cl...ean and safe environment and we haven’t had one positive covid case. Our hearts are heavy to see the negative impact these lockdowns have had on many of our Queen Street neighbours. It’s heartbreaking to see the large number of them with their doors and windows boarded up after years of serving the Queen Street community. We can only hope that soon enough, we can bring back the energy this city once had. . Thank you to all our loyal and loving clients who have given us your time and energy throughout the past year. We couldn’t have made it this far without you. . Here’s a mini photo tour of our Queen Street clinic, our home away from home where we welcome you to escape the world with us. . @naelshawwa . #covidversary #oneyear #queenstreetwest . . . . . #toronto #the6ix #torontolife #torontowellness #healthytoronto #healthclinic #physiotherapy #chiropractic #massagetherapy #acupuncture #psychotherapy #mentalhealth
