Anyone able to take a brief video clip of their child and/or family members in Nativity costumes? In place of a pageant, these clips will be shown as the Christmas story is read as part of our virtual Christmas Eve. Dress up, pose, smile, wave, spin around, re-enact 20 seconds or so each. All clips must be submitted by December 16. Make your own costumes or arrange a pick up for those at the church. Needed: first come first dibbs for Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus. We can use as many shepherds, angels, wisemen, and barn animals as volunteer. [email protected]

Hello friends! I pray you are all safe and well and that your Thanksgiving observances were blessed! Based on our best judgement, Council and I have decided to further delay our return to in- person worship. The new target date is uncertain but we anticipate opening for the Advent season which begins November 29. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation, as well as for your prayers and support.... Virtual services will continue to be shared. I am taking a small break from my duties for the next two Sundays. Rev. Steve Johnston of Trinity London has invited our congregation to visit our joint, online services for Oct. 18 and 25 (Reformation) . Our own Organist, Chris Eagleson, will be contributing to Oct 18th service and our Chair of Council, Tracy Lather, will participate in service leadership on Oct. 29th. Peter Bornath and his family choir are also featured. Trinity uses a different distribution system than we do. Access to both services will still be shared via email. Facebook users will need to contact me in advance to receive the protected link. I will return to my duties for November 1 service which will be shared as per normal. On November 1 we remember the saints and honour those who have died. This year I hope to include pictures of those whom we memorialize. Please send me names and date of death for anyone you wish to be included in the prayers and, if possible, please send a photo as well. Continued blessings and big, virtual hugs. Chin up. God loves you and so do I! Pastor Nadine. PS. I'd love to hear from you!

Let's make the best of it. Since we cannot gather for our annual Christmas cookie event, let's share our favorites here! I offer you the Schroeder recipe for the sugar cookies we bake and decorate every year. Please share your recipes for Christmas cookies, squares, desserts, drinks and meals so we can all get an early start and try new things!

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give res...t to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen. ~ Book of Common Prayer See more

Yeah, it all seems big, I know, but you can't lose today: "With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line... for us, embracing our condition & exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there *anything else* He wouldn’t *gladly* and *freely* do for us?" Romans 8:32MSG You may feel out of your league, *but God's got your game.* You may feel right overwhelmed, *but God's arms are right under you* You may feel like it's you up against everything, *but God's got you up against Himself.* God is for you when everything else seems against you and if *God* is for you, what can stand against you? God's mercies are new every morning, not because God has some *obligation* to you but as an *affirmation* of you. At any point today, look up God affirms you, *God is firmly for you.* #TheWayOfAbundance #1000Gifts [ this graphic’s free to download & print here: http://bit.ly/StickyNotesForYourSoul ]

Oct. 03 | Happy Feast Day St. Francis of Assisi! Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, ...pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved, as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen

Pet blessing with the pets I missed. If I still haven't included your pet please accept my humble apology.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich Ontario 19.06.2020

It was a privilege and a joy to spend time in prayer over your pets in preparation for today's service. Forgive me for missing some photos and names. Be assured that blessing has been bestowed on them through this service and my careful time pouring over messages and photos. As you can see from the video, the learning curb is still high. I apologize for the out of sync audio in some parts and the missing pet slides. The second reading by Laurie Erb was dubbed over with additional pet names that were supposed be in the pet blessing. :) Thank you for your participation!
